- 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda

- ¼ tsp salt
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup buttermilk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Coating:
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 3 tbsp melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease donut pans.
- Reduce apple cider to ½ cup over low heat. Let cool.
- Mix dry ingredients in a bowl: flour, baking powder, baking soda, spices, salt.
- Whisk wet ingredients: butter, egg, sugars, buttermilk, vanilla, and reduced cider.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients gently.
- Spoon batter into pans. Bake 12–14 minutes, until golden.
- While warm, brush donuts with butter and coat in cinnamon sugar.
Notes
- Swap flour with gluten-free blend if needed.
Store up to 3 days airtight or freeze uncoated for 2 months.
