- ½ cup butter (softened)
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup molasses
- 1 cup hot water or strong coffee
- ½ cup sour cream or yogurt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and line a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- Mix flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and spices in a bowl.
- In another bowl, cream butter and sugars until fluffy. Add eggs, molasses, and sour cream.
- Slowly add dry ingredients and hot water. Mix until smooth.
- Pour into loaf pan and bake 55–65 minutes.
- Cool for 15 minutes in pan, then transfer to a wire rack.
