Ingredients
-
2 tablespoons olive oil
-
1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
-
1 teaspoon salt
-
½ teaspoon black pepper
-
1 teaspoon garlic powder
-
½ teaspoon onion powder
-
1 cup chicken broth
-
1 cup frozen green peas
-
½ cup diced onions
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
½ cup heavy cream (optional for creamier texture)
-
1 tablespoon butter
-
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
-
Lemon wedges (optional, for serving)
Instructions
-
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
-
Season the chicken pieces with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
-
Add the chicken to the skillet and cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned and cooked through.
-
Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
-
In the same skillet, add the butter and diced onions. Sauté for 2–3 minutes until the onions are soft and translucent.
-
Add the minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
-
Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer, scraping up any browned bits from the pan.
-
Add the peas and cook for 3–4 minutes until tender.
-
If using, stir in the heavy cream and return the cooked chicken to the skillet.
-
Simmer everything together for 3–4 minutes, until the sauce slightly thickens and coats the chicken and peas beautifully.
-
Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm with lemon wedges on the side.
Notes
For a lighter version, skip the heavy cream and use just broth.
