Description

These crispy golden brown egg rolls are a savory, crunchy classic from my family kitchen—filled with seasoned pork, garlic, and fresh coleslaw mix, then rolled and fried to golden perfection. Ideal as an appetizer or comfort food treat!


Ingredients

Scale

1 pound ground pork

Salt and pepper to taste

1 teaspoon minced garlic

1 teaspoon minced ginger

2½ cups coleslaw mix

2 tablespoons sliced green onions

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil

12 egg roll wrappers

1 egg, beaten (for sealing)

Oil for frying


Instructions

  1. Cook pork over medium heat until no longer pink. Season with salt and pepper. 
  2. Add garlic and ginger; sauté for 30 seconds.

  3. Stir in coleslaw mix and green onions; cook for 3 minutes.

  4. Remove from heat. Add soy sauce and sesame oil. Cool filling slightly.

  5. Place egg roll wrapper like a diamond. Add 3–4 tbsp filling to center.

  6. Fold bottom corner over filling, tuck in sides, and roll tightly. Seal with egg.

  7. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry egg rolls in batches until golden brown.

 

Drain on a rack or paper towels. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

For a lighter version, try baking at 400°F for 15–18 minutes or air frying at 390°F for 10–12 minutes.
