Description
These crispy golden brown egg rolls are a savory, crunchy classic from my family kitchen—filled with seasoned pork, garlic, and fresh coleslaw mix, then rolled and fried to golden perfection. Ideal as an appetizer or comfort food treat!
Ingredients
1 pound ground pork
Salt and pepper to taste
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon minced ginger
2½ cups coleslaw mix
2 tablespoons sliced green onions
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
12 egg roll wrappers
1 egg, beaten (for sealing)
Oil for frying
Instructions
- Cook pork over medium heat until no longer pink. Season with salt and pepper.
-
Add garlic and ginger; sauté for 30 seconds.
-
Stir in coleslaw mix and green onions; cook for 3 minutes.
-
Remove from heat. Add soy sauce and sesame oil. Cool filling slightly.
-
Place egg roll wrapper like a diamond. Add 3–4 tbsp filling to center.
-
Fold bottom corner over filling, tuck in sides, and roll tightly. Seal with egg.
-
Heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry egg rolls in batches until golden brown.
Drain on a rack or paper towels. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
For a lighter version, try baking at 400°F for 15–18 minutes or air frying at 390°F for 10–12 minutes.
