Description
Crispy, savory, and packed with protein, these homemade chicken chips are the perfect guilt-free snack. Easy to make and irresistibly crunchy!
Ingredients
-
1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast (or ground chicken)
-
1 tablespoon olive oil
-
1 teaspoon garlic powder
-
1 teaspoon onion powder
-
½ teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
-
½ teaspoon black pepper
-
½ teaspoon sea salt
Instructions
-
Prepare the Chicken:
Slightly freeze the chicken breasts for about 30 minutes to make slicing easier. Using a sharp knife or mandoline, slice the chicken into very thin, even pieces (about ⅛ inch thick). -
Dry the Chicken:
Lay the slices between paper towels and gently press to remove any excess moisture. -
Season:
In a large bowl, toss the chicken slices with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and sea salt until evenly coated. -
Preheat Oven or Air Fryer:
Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) or your air fryer to 280°F (140°C). -
Arrange:
Lay the chicken slices in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet or in an air fryer basket. Make sure they are not overlapping. -
Cook:
Bake for 20–30 minutes or air fry for 15–20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy. Watch closely after 15 minutes to prevent burning. -
Cool:
Transfer the cooked chips to a wire rack and let them cool completely. They will crisp up even more as they cool.
-
Serve and Enjoy:
Enjoy immediately or store in an airtight container for a crispy snack anytime!
Notes
Flavor ideas: After baking, sprinkle with parmesan cheese, ranch seasoning, or spicy cayenne for a flavor twist.
Storage: Store cooled chips in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or freeze for longer storage.
